Production Supervisor (Kiln Operation) South 50-60K+. great benefits, relocation, etc. Company has a job opportunity for a Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for providing effective leadership, driving continuous improvement, and the coordination of all production activities within a production department. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will directly supervise 8 employees in a production department. Key Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor: · Providing day-to-day leadership and coordination of the kiln operation · Actively participating in eliminating waste and quality defects from the operation through involvement in and leadership of continuous improvements events · Helping to drive a zero incident accident culture by actively supporting safety goals · Actively practicing organizational improvements through the 5S process and ensuring that “everything has a place and everything is in its place” · Managing lumber drying and related functions of operating and maintaining dry kilns · Tracking dry lumber inventory by shed locations, species and lumber grade while scheduling kiln discharge availability · Conducting ongoing quality checks to ensure lumber is not drying too quickly or slowly · Maintaining all kiln production records as well as e-time and providing appropriate updates to personnel records · Monitoring all kiln equipment and ensuring it is in safe working condition · Ensuring that all preventative maintenance is being performed on all equipment · Working closely with the maintenance department to ensure optimal operation of kilns, equipment and machinery · Managing and coordinating all forklift repairs to ensure timely and safe forklift operation · Ensuring all forklift check sheets are completed and filed according to standard work process · Maintaining forklift repair log and preventive maintenance schedule Required Qualifications for the Production Supervisor: · 3+ years of effective management experience · Working knowledge of safety and environmental practices and regulations, including OSHA compliance · Strong management, leadership and communication skills Desired Qualifications for the Production Supervisor: · Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree · Previous work experience in a related field · Experience with kiln operations and maintenance · Knowledge of Six Sigma, lean principles or other process improvement processes · Solid mechanical knowledge, including machine operation, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance For immediate response please email your resume to
