Job Title: Plant Manager
Pay Grade: 105-120K + Bonus 20%
Reports to: Vice President of Manufacturing
Upper Midwest
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for the day to day manufacturing operations of Wood Products. This position works closely with the Vice President of Manufacturing to achieve operational effectiveness, efficiency and economy within the manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Coaches and develops staff.
Works with Vice President of Manufacturing in formulating and administering company policies and developing long-term goals and objectives.
Coordinates activities of Wood Products Operations and Materials to meet organizational goals and objectives.
Operates within budgetary constraints; participating in the development of annual budgets and forecasts; participating in updating and reconciling operating and budget plans as required.
Supervises employees in the manufacturing departments on multiple shifts with several Supervisor reports.
Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
Ensures continuous improvement of manufacturing and materials processes.
Prioritizes departmental projects and communicates business needs and direction to employees.
Recommends and implements systems and/or process controls for effective and efficient operations, quality and productivity through continuous process improvement. |
Qualifications |
Education/Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred, but will consider others.
8-10 years experience in Wood Products Manufacturing is required.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and inventory control practices are preferred.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.).”Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), strong interpersonal, time management, and team-building skills are required.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, a high level of initiative, strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, good judgment, and the ability to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information are also essential for success. |
