SUPERINTENDENT PAPER-PACKAGING-CONTAINERS MANUFACTURING 5-7 YRS EXPERIENCE 75-100k+ (doe) MID ATLANTIC General Job Activity: Manage day-to-day operation of paper machines. Provide technical and practical support for all machine operations. Identify and implement continuous improvement work; machine efficiencies, recoveries, quality, machine optimizations, cost and safety. Responsible for supervisor and crew training. Specific Job Activities: - Interacting with day supervisor, shift supervisors and crew to trouble shoot and improve paper machine operation on a day-to-day basis. This person needs to be intimately familiar with the paper making process and how it interacts and affects other mill processes. - Ensures effective coordination of maintenance activities from work identification to completion of jobs. Good organizational skills are a must to ensure that equipment is maintained in a good, reliable condition. - Manage budget and input costs. Develop budgets for all aspects of the machines from chemical use to capital projects and productivity. - Ensure on-going training needs are being met with day supervisor and foreman. Ensure effective training priorities are being met within line of progression of hourly crews.

Skills and Training: - BA/BS degree or equivalent experience or a combination of experience and relevant education - Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills - Proven organization and leadership skills - Technical understanding of paper machine equipment and processes - Self motivated and functions well in a team - Experience with shift work and managing hourly employees
