ESTIMATOR
Upper Midwest
Salary is commensurate with experience
Reports to: Sales and Marketing Manager
Primary Function: To provide customers with accurate, complete quotations in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:
1. Properly interpret architectural specifications, customer schedules and drawings.
2. Gain and utilize an understanding of the following:
A. Veneer grades and matching methods
B. Core constructions and variations
C. Fire door ratings, requirements and restrictions
D. Capabilities and limitations of factory finishing systems
E. Builders hardware and potential problems when used with wood doors
F. Positive pressure requirements and restrictions
3. Know competitors product offerings well enough so as to determine what the competition is supplying so we can suggest possible alternates or quote more creatively.
4. Must have adequate typing skills on a PC. Also have a thorough working knowledge of codes and procedures necessary to input quotations accurately and in a timely manner.
5. Maintain a customer service level of one-day or 24-hour turn around on quotations.
6. After receipt of a written request for quotation, share responsibility with the rest of the estimating team for the following duties:
A. Evaluate customer's quote request
B. Input information into Logia PC Program
C. Check quotation for accuracy
D. Assign multiplier if less than 100 door, fax to customer, and forward mill copy to Sales Service Specialist. If over 100 doors, assign multiplier and forward to Sales Service Specialist for review
E. Check and clear PC fax board on a timely basis
7. Provide pricing on standard outside purchase products (i.e., hollow core doors, wood frames, stile and rail doors, etc.) based on costs. Obtain selling prices on specialty items.
8. Take initiative to continue and increase your product knowledge, job skills, organizational and procedural knowledge, etc., so as to serve your company better and eliminate errors.
9. Assist other Estimators when needed and share in additional work load created when other Estimators are on vacation. Maintain a good team working relationship with all company personnel.
10. Participate in special assignments, projects, or training of new Estimators as designated by the Sales Analysis and Training Manager. |
