Wood Finish Manager
$50,000 –$65,000+
We are looking for someone with strong supervisory skills and experience in wood finish operations including being able to provide technical expertise to the facility on finish products and technologies.
Supervises and coordinates activities of 30 hourly workers and 1 Line Leader engaged in the application of finishing products to manufacture parts or products for wood products production, through the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Duty/Responsibility
• Provides technical advice on pre-finish operations, finish operations, and post finish operations
• Investigates and determines finish products and technologies meeting cost, quality, efficiency, and environmental goals.
• Assigns duties to workers and supervises the quality and quantity of work in the department.
• Plans flows of material through department and assists in the development of the physical layout of equipment.
• Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Directs workers in making adjustments to the operation to avoid quality problems or to repair products which fail to meet standards.
• Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Encourages teamwork. Gives employees timely feedback on performance issues. Track attendance and tardiness and issues disciplinary notices if necessary.
• Participates in, implements, and leads lean manufacturing in the finish department
• Works with other management personnel to improve safety, environmental, and production in the department.
