Salary: 50-60K
Location: Southern Midwest
Will relocate if needed but prefer local or close state.
Product: Wood Products
BS degree in Finance or Accounting a plus, but not required
3-5+ years experience.
Must come from Wood Products Manufacturing
We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join an excellent Wood Products Manufacturer in the Midwest. The ideal candidate will have a proven and validated cost accounting background with an emphasis in implementing and analyzing costs for products. The candidate selected for this position will have at least 3-5 years experience in product costing and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications |
PREFERRED BUSINESS/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Experience with ERP System, Advanced Technical Skills a plus.
CULTURAL DYNAMICS: Interaction with Industrial Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Operations. Working in a team environment. Fast pace environment. Attention to detail. Excellent communication (oral & written) High expectations on work deliverables.
DAY TO DAY BUSINESS EXPECTATIONS: The selected professional will be required to execute duties as directed by the Controller. i.e.:
-Implementing and analyzing costs for products, month-end reporting, analysis, and inventory adjustments and revaluations.
-Establishes and maintains Standard Costs to support the inventory value.
-Analyzes and approves the Production Variance Reports.
-Calculates standard labor/burden rates for the plant.
-Maintains the Physical Count Inventory Adjustment Program.
-Prepares monthly Cost Closing Entries.
-Prepares month end schedules - Inventory Recap, pricing, etc.
-Analyzes preproduction cost estimates for marketing price decision.
-Reviews and analyzes all inventory transactions to insure proper posting to inventory.
-Assists in calculating the plant\'s operating plan.
-Assists in other accounting related projects as required.
