We have an Excellent Opportunity with a Store Fixtures / Millwork company based in Shanghai with subsidiary facility in the U.S. The Shanghai Company was one of the first Western fixtures companies to open in China and has been producing for many of the top brands of retail and hospitality, with a reputation of being the best quality producer in China.

The right candidate would have to have all the normal attributes and skills of a good Production Manager but Chinese business requires some additional skills. We need someone that has very strong knowledge and ability to train operators particularly in paint finishing, sanding and veneer work as well as well all other wood operations through to final assembly.
A person that has already had exposure to working in China, perhaps having worked with offshore suppliers would be beneficial. If that person has made trips to deal with Chinese factories then will already have experienced some communication and culture issues. |
Qualifications |
Additional Notes:
The Company recently expanded into a new sq ft facility located in Shanghai. Lodging would be provided in the City which is now a very Expat friendly environment.
According to the President and CEO they plan on expanding production capacity while capitalizing on the low costs available in China. Although Labor costs are rising in China, the Company is far more efficient than the competitors so the savings to produce in China are still substantial and the quality of the goods produced is often superior to what is able to be produced in Western factories. 2010 has seen the Company expand capability into custom metal fabrication, using the same approach of high quality engineering and CNC technology in order to gain margin, shorten lead times, and improve quality over sub contractors presently used.
There is also potential for career growth within the company including back in the U.S.
