PRODUCTION MANAGER/CUSTOM ARCHITECTURAL MILLWORK – POSITION IS A

DIRECT REPORT TO VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS/PLANT MANAGER

 

High-end commercial architectural millwork firm specializing in wood and wood veneered

casework, plastic lamination, moldings, metal and stone work, solid surface, and high quality installation

services seeking highly motivated, highly qualified  production manager for projects located East coast of U.S.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Assist with the planning, supervision, and assignment of work to shop employees engaged in

architectural millwork including CASEWORK/CUSTOM/FINISHING/SHIPPING

  • Maintain records (WORK ORDERS/SHOP DRAWINGS) associated with shop production
  • Assist with proper staffing of millwork shop (custom mechanics/casework mechanics/ cnc/ saw/machinery operators
  • Assist with production schedules and and provide input in efficiency and improvement there of
  • Assist with the supervision of and participation in the all shop activities, including but not limited to machine operation, project specific fabrication, layout and detailing, inventory control, architectural and shop drawing review and interpretation
  • Assist with quality control policy and procedures, and communicate employee issues/relations with human resource department.
  • Communicate and work directly with production/plant manager to ensure timely execution of the work and high quality craftsmanship
  • Assist with recruitment and training of shop personnel
  • Assist with the enforcement of company-wide safety program of all shop personnel
  • Maintain professional and positive attitude and TEAM player approach to all work

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 15+ years of related experience in the architectural millwork industry
  • Knowledge of all woodworking and millwork machinery and tools including but not limited to CNC routers, panel saws, edge-banding Machinery, etc.
  • Must possess excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to effectively lead and supervise skilled workers
  • Ability to read, review and interpret shop and architectural drawings
  • Proficient with computers and general software (MS Office/Excel/Word) as well as proficiency with production software and current technology commonly used in the millwork industry
  • Must be self-motivated and a technical problem solver
  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively
