Finish Manager

Midwest

75K – 100+ Bonus, 401K, benefits, relocation assistance, etc.

 

Scope of Tactical Work Required:

  • Work closely with vendors (i.e. coatings & equipment) to test materials, assess future equipment purchases, gauge/measure ROI, manage costs, improve quality
  • Strategic – big picture thinker, be able to streamline processes
  • Manage day-to-day operations of finish department including 3-5 direct reports and 75 total employees
  • Close working relationship with management team (both senior and production)
  • Daily data collection that focuses on safety, quality, cost, & delivery

 

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Finishing line experience with knowledge of material thickness, flash times, dry times, etc. is required
  • Thorough understanding of wood finishing not limited to coatings, equipment, and processes is required.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Lean (Continuous Improvement) experience is a plus
  • Emphasis on mixing
  • Color formulation background is a plus (i.e. use of color theory, tints, dyes, etc.)
  • 4 year degree in Business, Management or Wood Technology / or combination of experience

 

Additional Information:

  • Finishing line consists of Flat, Hang and Cart Lines
  • Reciprocating sprayers (seal & top-coat)
  • “Conveyorized” opaque paint process
