Highly respected, stable, and growing High-end Architectural Millwork Design & Fabrication Firm is seeking an experienced Manager to oversee Shop Production and Personnel and reporting directly to their Vice President.

To be considered for this position you must have 5-10 years Architectural Millwork Shop Supervision, preferably in an AWI Shop. Journeyman Cabinetmaking experience a plus.

Job Summary:
The floor Manager is responsible for the daily direction and activities of the plant production and support personnel.
Direct subordinates in the setup and operation of a wide range of woodworking equipment to produce a wide variety of parts and components; layout and assemble standard and nonstandard units having many parts and details requiring skillful fitting.
Work from complicated drawings, work orders, as well as other written and verbal instructions.
Instruct, train and check subordinates in the setup and operation of all standard woodworking machines and equipment.
Plan and coordinate work flow for all production workers and conformance to shop drawings and AWI standards for the project.
Supervise activities of support personnel to keep shop clean; as well as ensure that all materials are received, staged and shipped properly.

Essential Job Functions:
Open, close shop; start up and shut down all lights, equipment, etc., and initiate corrective action on emergency issues.
Review shop drawings and work orders prior to handing out to shop.
Pass out work orders to group leaders, explain job as needed.
Orchestrate the flow of milling, pressing, sheet stock processing and finishing maximizing labor and material economy/efficiency while providing a constant flow to assembly.
Monitor work of subordinates, check for quality and accuracy standards; verify quantities and completeness.
When possible work alongside subordinates to help complete tasks on time, take advantage of teaching opportunities and instruct as needed to help upgrade skills.
Ensure safe and orderly plant and warehouse environment, immediately take corrective action when needed, and make procedural changes on systemic issues.
Consult with supervisor on conformance to weekly production schedule.
Make recommendations to ownership as to improvements, procedures, ideas and initiatives to further develop the “World Class” ideal.
Consult with supervisor on personnel issues.
Provide feedback to production personnel regarding job performance.
Monitor estimated vs. actual labor hours, and take corrective action to avoid overruns.
Provide feedback to supervisor regarding production and support personnel performance reviews.
Establish standards of performance where needed and communicate labor expectations.
Do time studies when appropriate to provide benchmarking.
Support the ownership by administering all company policies in a fair and equitable manner as well as provide referent leadership to boost morale and promote favorable employee relations.
Validate daily time tickets and forward to accounting.
Perform other similar duties as dictated by responsibility or necessity, or requested by supervisor.
